So, I’ve made some exciting additions to my palette collection. I have two recently purchased limited edition palettes that I’m keen as a bean to share with you, plus some older ones.

I had never used Tarte Cosmetics before, so I didn’t really know what to expect with this palette. Easy to say, this has become one of my new favourite palettes. The majority of the shades are neutral, with some bold colours. The formula for both the mattes and the shimmers are excellent, being very pigmented and blendable. Also, the large mirror is a major plus. And it comes with a nifty double-ended eyeshadow brush.
This is a limited edition palette, so I don’t think it will be around for much longer. Tarte are still selling it on their website, otherwise you might be able to pick it up at Sephora, while stock lasts.
Most Used Shades: Pixel, Modern Icon, Pop Art Princess
I don’t touch this too often, mainly because smoky eyes intimidate me. But the size of the palette makes it a great travel buddy, and ideal for doing makeup on-the-go.
Most Used Shades: N/A
I recently reviewed this palette, and it was as great as I’d hoped it would be. It encompasses 30 natural-hued shades, with some not-too-out-there pinks and purples. The shimmers have fantastic pigmentation and true colour payoff, whereas some of the mattes require a bit of work. You can read the full review here.
I really enjoy using this palette. The different looks that can be created with this are endless.
Most Used Shades: Moonbeam, Nudie, Poodle
Out of these palettes, this is my favourite. I really love neutral shades but I also don’t mind a few pops of colour. The thing I really love about this one, is that there is a warm-toned shade, and a cool-toned shade. There are also three stunning highlighting shades that have a bit of a shimmer to them. The matte shadows are full of pigment, whereas the glitters need to be applied wet for the best payoff.
Overall, a very versatile palette. So many different looks can be created with this.
Most Used Shades: Anaheim, Bathwater, Blackout
This palette was a Too Faced collaboration with NikkieTutorials. I bought this because I liked Nikkie at the time (now not so much, but I’ll get to that later), and I expected the palette to be of extremely high quality. But this was a MAJOR flop. The mattes are hard to blend and patchy, and the glitters are chunky as. The only shadows I can tolerate are Wham Bam and Mystic Hour.
The blushes, bronzer and highlight aren’t too bad. I won’t say too much, because they’ll be included in a later post. Stay tuned!
Most Used Shades: Mystic Hour, Wham Bam, Painkiller
That’s pretty much all of my collection, for now. I guarantee you, there will probably be a part 3 coming soon.
Show me your collection! I’d love to see yours 🙂
